COVID-19 Update: the Yates County Fair Board made the very difficult decision to cancel this year’s Yates County Fair. It is with a heavy heart that we share this news as so many of our Spring and now Summer events are not taking place as planned.
From the very beginning, the Fair Board has offered and been willing to continue to provide some sort of fair experience for our 4-H youth. We are currently brainstorming what this might look like and in the coming weeks should have a better idea of what we may be able to do. We are hopeful to be able to provide an opportunity for youth to display their 4-H projects and take part in animal science shows.
4-H staff have several thoughts we’re considering, but if you have any ideas on how we could accomplish this and create a fun and educational opportunity for our youth, please let us know.
With this being said, we are still asking for fair paperwork to be turned in by June 5th. This includes Advanced Entry Forms, Project Certification Sheets, Non-Ownership Forms, and Project Record Books. These forms are available as you scroll down this webpage, Reminder – Horse Certificates were due to the 4-H Office on May 15th and will now be accepted through June 5th. Knowing what animals and exhibits youth have to showcase will help us better plan a new and unique county fair experience.
