Gardening Matters Day

Join us for Gardening Matters Day 2026! 

This gardening event will be held on Saturday April 11th, 2026, at the Yates County Building Auditorium (417 Liberty Street, Penn Yan, NY 14527) from 10 am to 12 pm.

The Yates County Master Gardeners will be presenting on topics including: 

  • Bats in the Garden
  • Introduction to Biochar
  • “Plants they used to love”
  • Toxic Outdoor Plants to Pets (cats & dogs)
  • Watering Correctly.

All attendees will receive a complimentary “Garden in a Bag” seed collection featuring vegetable, herb, and flower seeds. Plus, they will have a chance to win a raffle prize and bid on silent auction items sourced from local businesses. Refreshments will be provided too. The cost to attend will be on a sliding scale of what you can afford from $0 to $20/person the day of the event.
