4-H Calendar of Events

Deadlines

  • January 10th – January Kit Orders Due - Our January 4-H Project Kit will feature Knit Hats! Knitting is a perfect wintertime activity. This month we’re highlighting the art of knitting and the Hat Not Hate movement featuring supplies to make blue hats as an anti-bullying campaign. Each kit has a loom, instructions, and supplies to make 2 winter hats. One kit is provided per family with additional blue yarn included for families with more than 2 youth. Learn a new skill and then use the supplies included to continue to make winter hats in any color you like! The cost is $10 per kit and orders are due January 10th.   • January 11th – Deadline to register for 4-H Public Presentation Training
  • January 31st – Spaghetti Dinner tickets, money, and sign-ups due to the 4-H office
  • February 10th – 4-H Winterfest registration due (although registration will likely fill up prior to this date). See below for more information.

  • January 6th – Pet Group meeting, 5:00 pm at the Keuka Park Fire Department
  • January 7th (weather date – January 14th) – Clay Turtle Workshop at the Art Studio on Main, 11 am – noon and 1 – 2 pm. Additional information has been e-mailed out to those who signed up. Please check your e-mails to see if you are scheduled for the morning or afternoon workshop!
  • January 9th – 4-H Advisory Meeting – 6-7:30 pm at the 4-H office as well as via zoom
  • January 12th and 26th – Animal Crackers virtual webinar series featuring lambing and kidding.
  • January 15th – Public Presentation Training, 1-2:30 pm at the 4-H office. See attached flyer for additional details.
  • January 16th – Office Closed for MLK Day
  • January 16th – Teen Group meeting, 1-3 pm. We will be touring Yates County EMS. Please plan to meet at the EMS building and be picked up at the 4-H office. Please let me know if you plan to attend. New 4-H teens are welcome to join us, reach out if interested.
  • January 18th and 25th and February 1st and 8th – Dive Deep – NYS 4-H Fisheries webinar series. This four-part series hosted by 4-H educators and experts in the field will discuss salmon, trout, sturgeon, and dogfish sharks. Sessions will take place Wednesday nights at 6:30 pm. There is no cost to participate, and this series is open to Cloverbuds, 4-H members, 4-H parents, volunteers, and youth. See attached for more information.
  • February 9th – 4-H Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser at the Penn Yan Elk’s Lodge.
  • February 9th and 23rd – Animal Crackers virtual webinars featuring Rabbits/Cavy. Contact Jen for more information or to register.
  • February 15th – Make-up Public Presentations, 6-7:30 pm at the 4-H office. Additional information coming soon!
  • February 17th – 19th – 4-H Outdoor Adventures Winterfest. Contact Jen if interested. Space is limited, so if you’re interested it’s best to sign up early. We do have money available to cover the cost of registration (due Feb 10th).
  • February 22nd and 25th – 4-H Public Presentations. Additional information coming soon!
  • March 4th – Finger Lakes District Horse Extravaganza
  • March 9th and 23rd - Animal Crackers virtual webinars featuring Poultry/Meat Birds. Contact Jen for more information or to register.
  • March 11th – Fairy Tale Festival in Dundee – A fun family event featuring community organizations and fun, hands-on activities. I am looking for 1-2 older 4-H youth interested in helping with a hands-on 4-H activity
  • March 18th – Finger Lakes District Dairy Bowl
  • March 25th – Finger Lakes District Public Presentations
