A food forest is a garden that is modeled after natural ecosystems found in forests. Food Forests include trees, shrubs, herbs, and other plants that work together to create a self-sustaining system. The goal of a food forest is to produce an abundance of food with minimal effort from the gardener.
Join CCE-Yates County as we explore this traditional ecological garden design and how it can be incorporated into your own garden. As part of the workshop, we will plant a demonstration food forest at the Penn Yan Community Garden.
